Carl Denham loses his footage and is upset his movie won’t be made. He captures Kong and takes him to New York City, and then puts him on display in a theatre so that the public will pay money to see Kong. Not surprisingly, things go terribly wrong when Kong escapes his chains and tears up the city, hoping to find Ann Darrow. He eventually finds her and they go off to have some fun together. Unfortunately, their fun is interrupted when the U.S. Army attacks Kong. To protect Ann, Kong climbs up to the top of the Empire State Building and places her out of harm’s way. Military aircrafts shows up and shoots at Kong, severely wounding him. Ann climbs to the top to try to help him. Kong slumps down, and they look at each other one last time before he falls to his death. Jack Driscoll arrives at the top of the building right after and embraces Ann. Reporters are snapping photos of the dead ape. One person remarks how he was just a beast and nobody’s going to care. Carl Denham says it was beauty who killed the beast (but it was really him responsible for Kong’s death because of his own selfish needs for glory and money).
