Plot Summary:

C.S. Lewis’ timeless adventure "The Chronicles of
Narnia:  The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe" follows the exploits of
the four Pevensie siblings — Lucy, Edmund, Susan and Peter — in World War II
England who enter the world of Narnia through a magical wardrobe while playing
a game of ‘hide-and-seek’ in the rural country home of an elderly professor.
Once there, the children discover a charming, peaceful land inhabited by
talking beasts, dwarfs, fauns, centaurs and giants that has become a world
cursed to eternal winter by the evil White Witch, Jadis.  Under the
guidance of a noble and mystical ruler, the lion Aslan, the children fight to
overcome  the White Witch’s powerful hold over Narnia in a spectacular,
climactic battle that will free Narnia from Jadis’ icy spell forever.

Aslan the Lion (voiced by Liam Neeson) sacrifices himself to the White Witch in place of Edmund Pevensie who had betrayed Narnia. Lucy and Susan Pevensie follows Aslan and watches as he gets tied up, has his mane shaved off, and then stabbed by the White Witch. Peter Pevensie gets word that Aslan had died, so he decides to lead the army into battle against the White Witch. Susan and Lucy stays with Aslan’s body for a little while. They are shocked when Aslan is suddenly resurrected from the dead. Aslan and the girls go to the White Witch’s castle where Aslan brings the White Witch’s victims back to life so they can help fight in the war. In the meantime, Peter and the Narnia troops are outnumbered against the White Witch’s troops. The White Witch stabs Edmund, and is about to kill Peter when Aslan appears with his troops. Aslan kills the Witch and Narnia is saved. Edmund is saved from death after Lucy gives him a drop of her healing potion. The 4 Pevensie children are crowned kings and queens of Narnia. Aslan disappears again. Years later, the adult Pevensie siblings run into the same lamppost they originally saw when they first entered Narnia. They go back through the wardrobe and stumble back into the same room where they discover it’s still the same day and time they had left at (so they’re children again). Professor Kirke (Jim Broadbent) finds them in the room and asks them what they’re up to. The children tell him he probably won’t believe them and he smiles and suggests they try telling him anyways. During the closing credits, Lucy tells Professor Kirke she can’t go back into Narnia anymore. Kirke says it’ll probably happen again one day when she least expects it.

Loved this film. It was shot beautifully and the acting and voices were all wonderful. It’s a must-see for all ages!
