Plot Summary:
"Sin City" stars Bruce Willis as Hartigan, a cop with a bum ticker and a vow
to protect stripper Nancy (Jessica Alba); Marv (Mickey Rourke) is the outcast
misanthrope on a mission to avenge the death of his true love, Goldie (Jaime
King); Clive Owen plays Dwight, the clandestine love of Shellie (Brittany
Murphy), who spends his nights defending Gail (Rosario Dawson) and her Old
Towne girls (Devon Aoki and Alexis Bledel) from Jackie Boy (Benicio Del Toro),
a dirty cop with a penchant for violence.

* Marv kills many people to look for Goldie’s (Jaime King) killer and after many clues, he finds out it was Kevin who turns out to be a cannibal murderer. Marv kills Kevin and Cardinal Roark (who had ordered Kevin to kill Goldie). He gets arrested and is eventually executed in the electric chair (it takes a couple tries in the chair before he actually dies).
* Hartigan saves little Nancy Callahan (Makenzie Vega) from being raped and killed by Rourk Jr. He shoots off Rourk Jr’s hand and genitalia. Unfortunately, he gets betrayed and shot repeatedly by Bob (Michael Madsen). Since Rourk Jr’s father is a powerful Senator, Hartigan gets blamed for raping little Nancy and ends up in jail for 8 years. Every week for 8 years, Nancy writes him a letter under a fake name. When Hartigan gets out, Rourk Junior returns as Yellow Bastard, intending to take his revenge. He kidnaps and tortures Nancy. Hartigan saves her and kills Yellow Bastard. He sends her home and then kills himself, knowing Senator Rourk won’t harm Nancy when he’s dead.
* Dwight, Gail, and her friends destroy all the evidence that links them to murdering Jackie Boy and his fellow cop thugs. They kill Manute (Michael Clarke Duncan) and his gang to tie up the final loose ends, successfully getting away with killing Jackie Boy. Becky (Alexis Bledel) - the traitor - gets away with only a broken arm.
* Turns out the man (Josh Hartnett) in the beginning is a hitman in Sin City. He shuts up traitors like Becky permanently like he did to the woman in the beginning of the film. Final scene shows Becky in the hospital walking into the elevator where we see the hitman dressed as a doctor, waiting to pounce on her (we don’t see it onscreen).
Comments?An awesome film, but not for the faintest of hearts and underaged people. The visuals were excellent. I loved how the black & white complemented the colours of red and yellow. Everything seemed creepier and scarier in black & white. Of course, the actors were all superb. Recommended for those who don’t mind violence and gore.
