Ring Two, The
Plot Summary:
Samara Morgan is back!
The story in this
sequel picks up six months after the story in the first film. Naomi Watts and
David Dorfman reprise their roles as Rachel and Aidan Keller, the mother and son
who escaped Samara Morgan’s wrath.
To try to forget the
horrifying memories back in Seattle, Rachel and Aidan move to a small coastal
community in
Astoria, Oregon to start fresh. Unfortunately, forgetting is an
impossible task when familiar evidence at a local crime scene, including an
unmarked videotape, shows up. Rachel realizes that Samara has come back and
intends to continue her relentless cycle of terror and death (check out the

Samara Morgan (Daveigh Chase) had possessed Aidan’s body and intends to take over his soul. Max Rourke gets killed by Samara. Rachel visits Samara’s birth mother, Evelyn (Sissy Spacek), in a mental institution (she had tried to kill Samara when she was a baby). Evelyn accuses Rachel of letting the dead in. Rachel asks her how to get rid of Samara and Evelyn tells her to be a good mother. While sleeping at Max’s house, Aidan tells Rachel during a dream (since Samara can’t hear them while sleeping) to get rid of Samara by taking her back to the place she fears most. Rachel wakes up, drugs Aidan, and puts him in a bathtub filled with water, hoping to drown Samara. Samara comes out of Aidan’s body and disappears. Rachel then sees her on the TV screen coming out of the well, walking closer. She tells Samara she can’t have her son and allows herself to be pulled into the TV screen. Rachel ends up in the bottom of the well where she realizes the well is always open. She climbs up the well to the top with Samara close behind her. She succeeds in closing the well, trapping Samara forever. Rachel hears Aidan’s voice calling her. She runs through the forest to the cliff where she realizes she must jump off like Samara’s mother did in the videotape. She falls into the water and wakes up back at the house with Aidan leaning over her. She tells him it’s over and they hug.
