Eleanor tells Jane that Ned can’t be Steve’s son because Steve shoots blanks. Steve eventually accepts Ned as his son and they start bonding. During a helicopter ride to find the “jaguar shark”, the helicopter goes haywire and they crash into the ocean. Ned is killed and gets buried at sea. Later, Steve and the crew pile into the submarine to find the jaguar shark. When they find it, Steve decides not to kill it since it’s too beautiful to kill and they’re out of dynamite. Last scene ends with Steve sitting outside at the awards ceremony for documentary films. Klaus’s nephew comes out, Steve puts him on his shoulder. Steve and Team Zissou board the ship.
