Sommerfield (Natasha Lyonne) has invented a virus that can kill all the vampires around the world, but it must be mixed with Dracula’s blood for it be to effective. Dracula kills Sommerfield and kidnaps her daughter, Zoe (Haili Page), and King. A recording is left by Sommerfield warning Blade that he may die from the virus, too because he is a hybrid. Blade and Abigail rescues King and Zoe and kills a lot of the vampire goons. During the battle between Blade and Dracula, Abigail shoots the arrow with the virus at Dracula from behind, but he turns around and catches it. She shoots another arrow and gets him causing him to drop the virus arrow. Blade then grabs the arrow with the virus and stabs Dracula with it. The virus spreads into the air and kills all the vampires around including Talos. Before Dracula dies, he tells Blade that he (Blade) will be the beginning of a new generation of vampires and one day, his vampire side will take over his human side. When the sun rises, the dead vampires turn to ashes and the police take Blade’s body to be autopsied. As they are about to cut open his body, he suddenly shapes into Dracula’s body (who had been a shape-shifter). Turns out Blade isn’t dead after all. We then see Blade riding off on a motorcycle and King narrating that he is still out there “doing what he does”.
Comments about this movie? Great action with kick-ass fighting and good special effects. I’ve never seen the other Blade films, so I don’t know how this compares with the others. There weren’t very much character developments though. Needless to say, the ending was predictable and leaves an opening for another possible sequel.
