Posted by: Luna on Wednesday, May 19th, 2004

Starring: Mike Myers (voice of Shrek), Eddie Murphy (voice of Donkey), Cameron Diaz (voice of Princess Fiona), Julie Andrews (voice of the Queen), Antonio Banderas (voice of Puss In Boots), John Cleese (voice of the King), Rupert Everett (voice of Prince Charming)

With magic, Shrek turns into a good-looking human and Fiona back into her beautiful self. The Fairy Godmother (Jennifer Saunders) tries to keep Shrek out of the castle and has Prince Charming pretend to be Shrek to trick Fiona into loving him; Fairy Godmother blackmails the King into putting a potion into the tea and giving it to Fiona to drink, so that she will fall in love with Prince Charming when he kisses her; during the party, Shrek, Donkey (who was turned into a white stallion), and Puss In Boots finally gets into the castle with help by their friends; Prince Charming kisses Fiona, but instead of falling in love with him, she head butts him! Turns out, the King never gave her the tea with the potion in it; Fairy Godmother then aims her wand at Shrek and casts a spell, but the King jumps in front of it instead, turning BACK into a frog! Prince Charming and Fairy Godmother gets defeated; Shrek tells Fiona if he kisses her before midnight, they will stay as beautiful humans forever. Fiona decides not to, says she would rather have the ogre she fell in love with. Midnight comes, Shrek and Fiona both transforms back into ogres. Donkey also changes back into himself; The Queen picks up the frog and says she’ll still love him; during the credits (if viewers stayed long enough), Donkey’s wife, the Dragon, arrives with their donkey/dragon babies!

Personal comments about this movie?
One of the best computer animated films ever made! I think it was better than the 1st Shrek. It was so sweet when Fiona wanted to turn back into an ogre because she fell in love with Shrek the ogre, not Shrek the good-looking human. Puss In Boots was hilarious with those big little kitty eyes! ~lol~ Although I’m not so sure about Donkey and Dragon’s offspring. How on earth did they do it? Hmmm…Anyways, it’s definitely a must-see if you haven’t seen it! If you have, then definitely a must-buy for the DVD!
