Jenna hires Matt to take a bunch of pictures for her to help redesign the Poise magazine. Her ideas are a hit with the company. Lucy’s ideas flop and she’s furious. Lucy then sells Jenna’s photos to the Poise’s competitor, Sparkle magazine, taking all the credit for the idea and photos and becomes the new editor in chief for Sparkle. She tells Jenna that Matt had signed a form allowing her to use the photos (which he hadn’t). Jenna runs to Matt’s house (on his wedding day) and confesses her feelings for him. He turns her down, telling her he had already chosen Wendy (Lynn Collins). He also tells Jenna he has always loved her and then gives her the doll house (again) he had made for her on her 13th birthday. Jenna takes the doll house home and cries. The remaining wish dust on the doll house gets blown by the wind and suddenly, it’s back in the 1980s again, with young Jenna (Christa B. Allen) sitting in the closet blindfolded and young Matt (Sean Marquette) coming downstairs before young Lucy aka Tom-Tom (Alexandra Kyle) leaves. When young Matt opens the closet door, young Jenna pops out and kisses him and then tells Tom-Tom off. Seventeen years later, Jenna and Matt get married and live in a nice big house.
Comments Nothing new about the film, but it was still enjoyable and entertaining. Perhaps because the lead characters played by Jennifer Garner and Mark Ruffalo were so likeable. The plot wasn’t that original, but the story was surprisingly charming and delightful with a warm and fuzzy ending to match. Light entertainment at its best. Definitely recommended
