Lion King 1-1/2, The

*The story in this film runs parallel to The Lion King.
Timon and Pumbaa try to sabotage the romance between Simba and Nala (voiced by Moira Kelly), but the plan backfires and they end up alone. They get into a little argument and stop speaking to each other for a short while, but reunite to help Simba defeat Scar. We see lots of scenes that we originally seen in the 1st Lion King. Timon’s family suddenly shows up. Timon and his family helps by digging tunnels. The hyenas end up falling into a deep crater, which was created with the tunnels. This is the same crater Scar falls into after being defeated by Simba. Timon becomes a hero and Simba thanks him as he takes his place on Pride Rock. Last scene shows a bunch of Disney characters entering the theatre and wanting to watch the movie again.

This was a cute and entertaining movie. I am a big Lion King fan, so I was looking forward to seeing this film. It certainly wasn’t as good as the original Lion King, but it was definitely better than the sequel, Lion King II. Timon and Pumbaa were 2 of my fave characters, so I’m glad they made a movie revolving around their story and viewpoint. The music wasn’t that memorable and I thought there were way too many of the same scenes we saw in the original Lion King film, but it wasn’t a big deal. Overall, it’s a fun movie for Lion King fans.
