Matrix Revolutions, The

Posted by: Luna on Wednesday, November 5th, 2003

Starring: Keanu Reeves (Neo), Laurence Fishburne (Morpheus), Carrie-Annie Moss (Trinity), Mary Alice (The Oracle), Tanveer K. Atwal (Sati), Monica Bellucci (Persephone), Jada Pinkett Smith (Niobe)

Neo decides to fly to the Machine City and Trinity goes with him. Along the way, Neo and Trinity gets attacked by Bane (Ian Bliss). Neo gets blinded, but manages to kill him. Before they reach the Machine City, Trinity dies. Neo reaches the city alone. The Sentinels broke through Zion and there is a huge battle between the machines and humans. The people are fighting them with all their might with the weapons they have. Morpheus and Niobe fly back to Zion and are able to kill a few Sentinels. Unfortunately, there are way too many machines and just when they are about to be killed, the Sentinels suddenly stop. Turns out Neo had made a deal with the master machine. If he can get rid of Agent Smith (who is out of control. He is actually a virus causing problems for the machines and human world. Since he is a virus, he was able to keep multiplying and create new Smiths), they will free everyone in the Matrix. The master machine connects Neo into the Matrix, allowing him to fight Agent Smith. They have this huge battle. Agent Smith eventually tries to make Neo into another Smith. Just when it looks like he won, Agent Smith gets destroyed (When Smith tried to clone Neo, the master machine was able to destroy him-the virus-because Neo was connected to it). Neo “appears” to have died. The Matrix is finally cleaned up and the machines have freed the humans. Sati asks the Oracle if they will ever see Neo again and she says they probably will.

Comments about this movie?
I liked this film better than Reloaded. The ending was a good way to bring closure to the Matrix series. I don’t know why they didn’t make Morpheus a lead character anymore. Didn’t seem like they had much use for him anymore. As usual, the special effects were magnificent. The best scenes were the Sentinels-human battles in Zion and the final battle between Neo and Agent Smith.
