Starring: George Clooney (Miles Massey), Catherine Zeta-Jones (Marylin Rexroth), Geoffrey Rush (Donovan Donaly), Cedric the Entertainer (Gus Petch), Edward Herrmann (Rex Rexroth)

Rex and Marylin divorce, but Miles is able to help Rex keep everything, meaning Marylin ends up with nothing. She soon gets engaged to a wealthy oil tycoon named Howard Doyle (Billy Bob Thornton) and admits to Miles she’s only in it for the money. At the wedding, Doyle rips up the pre-nup to prove to Marylin he trusts her. She and Doyle divorce soon after, making Marylin rich. Miles and Marylin run into each other in Las Vegas. They quickly end up married (Miles had already fallen in love with her at first sight) after she reveals her friend had “died”. On their wedding night, Marylin rips up the pre-nup to prove her trust in Miles. The next day, Miles discovers that Doyle was just an actor Marylin had hired to make her “appear” rich, so he had actually been tricked into marrying her, believing she was already wealthy. Unfortunately, by that time, Marylin had already started the divorce process to get Miles’ money. Miles hires an asthmatic assassin to kill Marylin, but then finds out Rex had died without changing his will, which means Marylin really is rich and he has a lot to gain. He tries to call off the hit, but Marylin had already given the assassin a better deal if he kills Miles instead. When the assassin tries to kill Miles, he accidentally switches his inhaler for his gun, killing himself by mistake. Miles and Marylin soon reconcile, realizing they love each other, and both are rich, so they call off the divorce.
