Trapped
Starrring: Charlize Theron (Karen Jennings), Courtney Love (Cheryl Hickey), Stuart Townsend (William Jennings), Kevin Bacon (Joe Hickey), Pruitt Taylor Vince (Marvin)
Joe Hickey and “Marv” kidnap the doctor and Karen Jennings’ daughter, Abigail (Dakota Fanning), who has asthma. Karen is held hostage in her own hom by Joe. The doctor guy, William Jennings, is away at a conference, who is intercepted by Joe’s wife, Cheryl Hickey. Marv keeps the girl in a cabin in the remote forest. The master plan to ransom the kid for a million dollars is brewing.
Joe and Marv contact each other every 30 minutes to make sure both sides are still ok.
Joe is tricked by Karen, who cuts him up with a scalpel. He almost doesn’t make the call, which is a signal that the kidnapping went wrong and so Marv is to kill the kid. Marv tells the kid to close her eyes and think of happy thoughts, while he cocks the gun and about to pull the trigger.
Joe calls in defiance, but sends a message that if Marv hears bullets fire, kill the girl. We don’t hear bullets.
Meanwhile the husband figures out the reason for the kidnapping. After taking control of Cheryl, he injects a drug which paralyzes her body, and gets her to confess. Joe blames the doctor for killing his own girl, Katie when he was treating her. Joe is in denial and brainwashes Cheryl to believe that revenge through kidnapping (an eye for an eye) is the only justifiable means.
Daybreak has come and the money transfer can happen. Karen and Joe drive to the bank to prepare the money. The husband is to pick up the money and drops it off to Joe’s wife.
Cheryl and that doctor drive over to grab the money. At the bank, the doctor is pulled aside by the FBI who plan to plant a wire on him to track the kidnapping. He doesn’t trust the FBI to save his daughter.
The doctor and Cheryl hop on a plane to intercept Marv’s truck, tipped off by his friend who owns cellphone towers that intercepted the phone calls.
Marv and the daughter, Joe + Karen, Cheryl + the doctor all end up on the highway. Cheryl and the doctor nose dive the plane right onto the highway, crashing into a logging truck and Marv’s truck.
Joe + Karen see the whole thing ahead of them. Joe goes crazy.
Marv is injured, let’s go of the daughter. Daughter gets taken by Cheryl.
Joe gets shot down dead, Cheryl gives up the girl.
The ending scene is of the daughter, Karen and the doctor on the highway, Cheryl in the background alone and confused, Joe on the ground dead, wth tons of fire and destruction.
End.
