Ocean’s Eleven (2001)

Posted by: Luna on Friday, December 7th, 2001

Starring: George Clooney (Danny Ocean), Brad Pitt (Rusty Ryan), Casey Affleck (Virgil Malloy), Julia Roberts (Tess Ocean), Matt Damon (Linus Caldwell), Bernie Mac (Frank Catton), Andy Garcia (Terry Benedict)

Danny and his crew pull off the heist successfully. When Terry realizes something is wrong, he calls the police. The Ocean’s Eleven crew, disguised as the SWAT team, arrives and walks right into the vault giving them the opportunity to walk out with $150 million. When Terry discovers he had been robbed, he automatically blames Danny and rushes off to find him. He finds Danny (who had snuck back in) being “beaten”. Danny plays innocent and offers to help Terry catch the thieves if he gives up Tess. Terry agrees to the offer without a second thought and then has him arrested for violating parole. Tess, who had been watching all this from her room on her tv (thanks to the crew), leaves. Danny stays in prison for several months. When he gets out, Tess and Dusty are in the car waiting for him. Of course, the Ocean’s Eleven crew got away with the big bucks.

Comments about this movie?
One of the coolest heist films I’ve seen. It started out a bit slow, but once the action started, that’s when it got exciting. It was cleverly written and directed with plenty of good performances by the star-studded cast. There were enough twists and turns in the movie that kept me interested and eager to find out what would happen next. The heist just appeared so brilliant and ingenius onscreen that it doesn’t matter if it’s silly or unrealistic. The only flaw I found was the lack of chemistry between Clooney and Roberts. It was such a fun film to watch. Definitely a must-see, so kick back, relax, and enjoy!
