Unbreakable
Starring: Bruce Willis (David Dunn), Samuel L. Jackson (Elijah Price), Robin Wright Penn (Audrey Dunn), Spencer Treat Clark (Joseph Dunn)
Elijah Price was the one responsible for the train accidents and all the other accidents mentioned in the movie. He believed his physical condition can only be justified if he is a real-life example of a comic book. He needed to find a superhero to be his nemesis. Since his body is extremely fragile (bones break easily), he believed there must be someone out in the world who is the complete opposite from him, someone who is “unbreakable”. Therefore, he had hoped someone like David Dunn would appear, someone who could survive a train crash with no scratches…before the credits roll, viewers find out David had reported Elijah to the authorities. Elijah was eventually declared insane and put into a mental institution.
Personal comments about this movie?
A good film with decent acting by Bruce Willis and Samuel L. Jackson. Not quite as good as The Sixth Sense, but still enough twists to make it interesting. M. Night Shyamalan sure knows how to make good suspense films (except for The Village). He always takes you somewhere in the movie and then turns around and takes you somewhere else without warning. Now that’s great filmmaking.
