Nurse Betty

Betty gets a guest spot on the soap opera show. When she doesn’t say her lines (because she hasn’t yet figured out George is an actor on a show), George realizes she’s a little nuts and starts yelling at her. At first, Betty is confused, but then slowly her memory comes back and is mortified. She leaves and decides to pack up and go home. The murderers, Charlie and Wesley, show up at the house and starts up trouble. The cops (who had been searching for the missing Betty) soon arrive, both killers (who are actually father and son) end up getting shot and killed. George tells Betty that the tv producers would like her to be on the show, publicity and all. She accepts and becomes very popular. She uses the money she made on the show to go to nursing school.

This was a cute and interesting film. Renee Zellweger plays a woman who loses her grip on reality after witnessing her husband’s brutal murder while watching her favorite soap opera. She begins to believe she and the star actor on the soap opera show are in love, so she travels far to go see him. Despite a few violent scenes, this was actually a pretty funny movie with some great lines and a wonderful performance by Zellweger. The movie wouldn’t have been the same without her. The only person I didn’t like was Chris Rock whom I thought was really annoying. Other than that, I would recommend this film.
