Josie confesses at the prom that she’s actually a 25 year old undercover reporter for the Chicago Sun Times. Hurt and angry, Sam walks out; Josie writes her article about her painful senior year at high school (the cutest boy had asked her to the senior prom as a cruel joke). She reports that high school hasn’t changed much: there’s the cool group, the popular group, the brainy group, etc. She then apologizes to Sam in the article and tells him she’s in love with him and if he feels the same way about her, he could come 5 minutes before the baseball game the next day and kiss her in the middle of the field; on the day of the game, Josie waits for 5 minutes and is extremely disappointed when Sam doesn’t show up. Suddenly, the crowd cheers and she sees him running down the stairs and towards her, then grabs her in his arms and kisses her; oh, and Rob became an assistant baseball coach.
