Uncle Buck’s girlfriend, Chanice (Amy Madigan) catches him dirty dancing with Marcie (Laurie Metcalf) from next door, but he is innocent — honest!; Uncle Buck is faced with a moral dilemma - go to the race tracks to win a rigged race, which would make him rich, or look after Maisy and Miles. Tia had ditched her promise of taking care of the kids, so Uncle Buck is losing time. He thought about taking the kids to the race, but his conscience overwhelmed him. He convinces Chanice to babysit the kids, while he goes to look for Tia at the party; Super funny scene - Uncle Buck thinks Tia is in a room with her boyfriend, Bug (Jay Underwood), so he drills the door open and goes ballistic only to find it’s not Tia he’s with. He captures him and puts him in the trunk of his car and goes to look for Tia. He finds Tia walking along the street, crying. She gets into the car and they start talking. She starts to be friendlier and be buddies with Uncle Buck. Uncle Buck takes Bug out of the trunk and Bug starts insulting him, so Buck pecks golf balls at him; so, all is good in the family - Buck, whom everyone thought was rude, loud, obnoxious, and a slob of a guy proved he was responsible and won over his girlfriend again. The family loves him, and Tia learnt through Uncle Buck to appreciate and love her parents more.
Personal comments about this movie?
One of John Candy’s funniest movies! The exploding car and the gigantic pancake were classics.
… Back then, Macaulay Culkin was still cute.
